Nature is Music. And Music is Nature. Between nature and music there is a mysterious, irreplaceable and eternal mystic. Besides conducting its own symphony of sounds, nature is also a source of inspiration for (artists) human beings. Like a sculptor as it were i shape sounds into cinematic imagery with the intent to move the listener. My musical architecture is based on textures, patterns, structures that can be found in a landscape, nature and place. I make music with harp and soul that reflects my inner landscape, my psyche. My work also evokes (imaginary) landscapes and a cinematic imagery. I believe in the power of subdued and stilled music that reflects the internal (psyche) and external (nature + cultural) landscapes we are moving in = landscape music. A minimal and poetical note-score (so called harPoems) that comes from my strong desire to find beauty and consolation ; music as an antidote to the present. Or to quote F. Nietzsche : without music life would be a mistake.
harp and soul scapes
Next to making (motion)pictures in my studio i like to visualize my harp in an actual landscape. My harp and soul / every now and then in perfect harmony with our beautiful world \ are captured in film and photography to complement and strengthen the landscape music.
